On July 17, 2003, I attended a large meeting at Disneyland with fellow members of LaughingPlace.com. Much to my surprise, I was awarded a "Golden Doobie", named after the founder of the fan website. The award was in the form of a button with a picture of Doobie on it and my screen name.

I was so proud of it that I put it on my backpack with some other buttons the next day. After riding the Winnie the Pooh ride twice with my family and then Splash Mountain, I found the button was missing. I was so disappointed! I was pretty sure I'd lost it on Splash Mountain and I would never see it again.

You cannot imagine my surprise when I arrived home and checked the discussion boards at the site and found a message to me. Branden works at the Pooh ride, and had found the button. He recognized the website and knew the pin was an award so he saved it for me.

He not only returned the pin to me in the mail, he also included a great card from Pirates of the Caribbean, a Disneyland 48th birthday CM pin, a Mickey is for kids pin and a Pirates of the Caribbean opening day movie pin.

I am speechless. This kind of extra service is beyond what I would expect. I am honored to have the opportunity to publicly thank Branden, and I hope to thank him in person on my next visit to Disneyland.
